Overview

Bangkok Hospital in Pattaya is one of the 30 institutes run by the eminent Bangkok Hospital Group (Dusit Medical Services) and is the main referral hospital for the Eastern Seaboard of Thailand.

The hospital is technologically advanced, and regularly invests in high-tech medical equipment and diagnostic measures. It claims to be able to “carry out Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery without using an artificial heart-lung machine”.

Built over a sprawling 9-acre land, the hospital has special arrangements for its foreign patients.

They have interpreters for over 20 languages and even hold cultural and language training courses for the staff to ensure they understand cultural differences among various patients and serve them better.

Location

Pattaya is a beach city, about 120km south-east of Bangkok. Bangkok Hospital in Pattaya is located in Bang Lamung district of Chon Buri.

It will take a comfortable 2-hour drive, which you can take by

  • Taxis (around $40);
  • Public bus—Airport bus Number 389 (Suvarnabhumi Airport – Pattaya) Departs: 9:00, 13:00, 17:00, 19:30 p.m, and costs around $4);
  • Airport bus (Bell bus Co.)—Starting 8.00a.m., a bus departs every two hours until 6.00pm. It costs around $6) you can take the free shuttle bus from the airport to the public transportation center and reach the Bus Terminal.
  • If you choose to take the bus, remember you will have to take a taxi to reach the hospital from there

    Pattaya is known for its gorgeous beaches, resort hotels, high-rise condos, shopping malls, and 24-hour clubs.

     
    What's around

    A family attraction with a large variety of sea creatures to stay for a couple of hours.

    Built in 1940s, on the top of Phra Tamnak Hill, between Pattaya and Jomtien Beach, you will easily notice an enormous 18 metre tall Buddha. This Big Buddha is the largest in the region.

    The area features several designer golf courses, and some of them have lovely views of Pattaya Bay.

    There are several temples in the nearby area, many with beautiful gardens and lakes. Those interested in learning more about Asian cultures will find this place interesting. It is excellent for a peaceful walk and rejuvenation.
